Soha Ali Khan's advice to nephew Ibrahim Ali Khan after Nadaaniyaan debacle is pure gold

Soha Ali Khan has made a solid comeback to films with Chhorii 2. The movie also stars Nushrratt Bharuccha. Recently, her nephew Ibrahim Ali Khan made his acting debut with Naadaniyaan. The star kid had amassed quite a bit of fan following due to his good looks. However, his acting chops were badly berated on social media. Both Khushi Kapoor and he got trolled. Soha Ali Khan has opened up on what advice she has for Ibrahim who has a young actor has to deal with increased social media pressure. 

In an interview, Soha Ali Khan said one needed to have a thick skin to survive the industry. She said that people should be able to handle the comments or just avoid seeing them altogether. However, she said that ignorance is not bliss. She said a good actor was one who was aware of how his work was evaluated by the masses. She told this to reporter Nayandeep Rakshit. 

But, I feel, sometimes, it’s important to read the comments because you can’t just work in a vacuum. You have to be receptive to certain criticism, and you have to work on your craft and go forward

Soha Ali Khan said that actors needed a protective shield or kind of armour around them. But that did not mean having only yes-men around them. She said, “Do not shut yourself to the world and surround yourself only with love and people who are going to say positive things and be like yes-men. Be open to criticism, introspect and work towards your craft.” 

She said it was futile to get emotionally or psychologically affected by success or failure of a movie. However, it is crucial to understand where you’re lagging and how can you do better. 

Ibrahim Ali Khan has Sarzameen lined up with Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran. He is also supposed to be doing Diler with Sreeleela. It is a Maddock movie.
