Salman Khan starrer Sikandar, released on March 30, is receiving mixed response from the audience. The film, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna, has steadily declined in terms of collections. Well, amid this Gaiety Galaxy owner Manoj Desai has opened up about the public opinion and slammed Salman Khan for killing Rashmika’s character so early in the film.

In an interview with Vickey Lalwani Desai said, “I have gotten reviews from the public, and trade analyst Komal Nahta also told me that, ‘What was the need to kill the heroine so early on in the film?’ ‘What complex did you have?’ And then, when you take the film forward, if you feel something isn’t right… aap kyu asal mein Salman Khan dikhte nahi ho (Why doesn’t the real Salman Khan come forth in the film?)"

I know you will feel bad because of my interview because I am your friend, and Gaiety Galaxy is your second home but I am telling what the public is telling me. I can’t lie because this is what public is saying

The film "Sikandar" had a strong opening weekend, earning an estimated 90 crore rupees in India during its first week. However, its momentum slowed down in the following days, facing challenges like online leaks and mixed reviews. The film's worldwide collection stood at 123.75 crore rupees by Tuesday, with a significant contribution from the overseas market, which generated 88.75 crore rupees.

Despite the initial success, "Sikandar" is struggling to maintain its momentum. The film's box office performance will be closely watched in the coming days to see if it can regain its speed or continue to face challenges. The film stars Salman Khan, Kajal Aggarwal, Suniel Shetty, Sathyaraj, Prateik Babbar, and Sharman Joshi, and is directed by A.R. Murugadoss.

The film's release coincided with other big releases, including Mohanlal's "L2: Empuraan" and Sunny Deol's new film. Salman Khan had urged moviegoers to support all three films, hoping for a successful box office season for all involved.
