Sidharth Malhotra roped in to play a cop in 'Rowdy Rathore 2'?

Akshay Kumar's Rowdy Rathore was one of the most loved films. And for quite a some time, a sequel to Rowdy Rathore has been in the works. The sequel may see a change in the cast, and sources say that Sidharth Malhotra is being considered for the role of a cop in the film. However, the actor is still deciding whether he wants to play a cop role outside of the Rohit Shetty Cop Universe.

According to a report from ETimes, Shabina Khan is producing the film with a top Indian film studio and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The basics of the film are already on paper, and the makers are looking to start filming in the next two months. Talks are also on with a top director, who delivered a blockbuster to the helm last year.

If reports are to be believed,  the producer has finally managed to lock the core idea for Rowdy Rathore 2 and is in the conversation stage with Sidharth Malhotra to play the role of a cop in this film. While, Sid has shown interest and is still contemplating if he should play a cop role outside of the Rohit Shetty Cop Universe.

If all goes according to plan, Rowdy Rathore 2 will begin filming by the end of May. For those who don't know, Akshay Kumar starred in a double role in the 2012 blockbuster movie Rowdy Rathore. It is still famous for Khiladi's flawless portrayal of a cop and a rowdy. The extent of Akshay Kumar's involvement in the sequel is still unclear. He may or may not be present. Since Sid has been offered the role of the cop in this masala comedy, we're still waiting for a clear picture.
