Earlier today, we reported that late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's former flatmate Siddharth Pithani has filed a bail application.
Pithani was recently arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Hyderabad for his alleged links in a drug case. After his bail plea, a special NDPS court in Mumbai has asked the investigating agency to file a reply by June 16.
And now the real reason behind Siddharth Pithani’s bail application has come to light. He has reportedly applied for bail citing his wedding. ETimes quoted his lawyer Taraq Sayed as saying:
“He has applied for regular bail but his marriage is scheduled for June 26. The hearing of the bail application is on June 16. I will appeal to the honourable judge to give him interim bail so that he can get married and come back and surrender and the regular procedure for bail can continue".
However, the investigating agency the Narcotics Control Bureau seems aware about Pithani's marriage plans. Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede was quoted as saying:
"We were told about the engagement but there was no mention of the marriage to us. All this has got nothing to do with our case".
The NCB was looking out for Pithani since August 2020. He was amongst the four people who were present at Sushant’s home in Mumbai when he was found hanging in his room on June 14, 2020.
After Sushant’s demise, Siddharth was called for several rounds of questioning by the NCB. Later, Siddharth had deleted his Instagram account.
He was recently traced through his new Instagram account wherein he had shared pictures from his gym in Thirupathi and even posted a picture from his engagement.
