In a surprising turn of events, several well-known celebrities found themselves in the spotlight on October 5th, as they were summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Mahadev money laundering case. Additionally, Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor has also been drawn into the mix as she was summoned by the ED in connection with the same online betting case.
Shraddha Kapoor was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in relation to her association with the Mahadev app and its alleged involvement in online betting. The talented actress is scheduled to make her appearance before the ED on Friday, October 6th.
The controversy surrounding the actress is with her promotion of the app, with the agency suspecting that the payments she received for her endorsement might have originated from the proceeds of illegal activities.
Joining Shraddha Kapoor in this legal ordeal are three more celebrities - comedian Kapil Sharma, TV actress Hina Khan, and Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi. All three of them have been called in by the ED due to their purported roles in promoting the Mahadev betting app. Furthermore, the net of investigation may extend to celebrities who graced the opulent Dubai wedding of Sourabh Chandrakar, one of the app's promoters. Social media influencers who actively endorsed the app could also face scrutiny.
Earlier, there were reports circulating that actor Ranbir Kapoor was also on the ED's radar. However, it appears that Kapoor's involvement is of a different nature. He has been summoned to provide insights into his knowledge of the source of income he received for promoting the app.
