Shocking Elimination in Idea Dhoom Macha De

The mainstream Bollywood Singer Babul Supriyo is eliminated from NDTV Imagine's Dhoom Maccha De. It has left everyone shocked as now the only male singer who has made to the finals along with Richa Sharma and Jaspinder Narula is Devang Patel.

Inspite of Babul rendering the hit song 'Ae Jindagi Gale Laga le' from Sadma wherein Shankar Mahadevan, the judge applauded Babul, he and Jaspinder Narula were put in the danger zone. Finally the judges took two hours to come up with their decision on the elimination.

When asked about the elimination to Babul Supriyo he said candidly, "Everyone is good. We all are entertainers, and like me even others performed well. I don't have any regret on being eliminated. I got good response from the audience after being eliminated. Any singer would be satisfied with such public appreciation. A momento was given to me after my elimination by the judges." When asked if he'll take part in any other reality show again he replied in affirmation. "If I get a chance definitely, I will do. I am still in the mood of Dhom Macha De, it was a great experience," said an exhuberant Babul.

When Babul's name was announced as the eliminated contestant, everyone was shocked. Jaspinder started crying and requested that she be eliminated and not Babul. When Jaspinder was asked about Babul's elimination she said, "I am elder to him and others and as such I take them all as younger brother and sisters. I would not have minded getting eliminated. I don't think I would cry for myself but I cried for him as I understood what was in his mind. I accept the decision. On the day of elimination, it was just an emotional phase due to which I cried. It was purely on humanitarian grounds and nothing else."

Babul Supriyo was apparently a top contender for the finals. In last week's episode too, Karan Johar had commented that Babul's voice is the voice which fits any Bollywood hero's voice. Not just the audience but even Sharmila Tagore was very upset while announcing that Babul is eliminated.
