She has gone beyond my expectations: Ajay Devgn on casting Rakul Preet Singh for 'Runway 34'

Runway 34, directed by Ajay Devgn, appears to be a compelling story situated 35,000 feet above land. This isn't your typical narrative of an aircraft crash and its survivors. The second trailer for the film, which was published on Monday, confirms that there's more to the story than meets the eye.

The Himmatwala actor in a recent interaction with media for the promotion of Runway 34 was asked about how did the cast come along for the film. The actor said,

"Obviously she (Rakul) suited the role so I decided to cast her. I am very happy that I casted her because if you see the film she has gone beyond my expectations. I have worked with her before in 'De De Pyaar De', I knew that she has the potential to pull it off . And if you see the film than you will know that she has done a really really good job. May be she has not got a chance to perform so far. It also depends on when you get the right role."

Talking about megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay said,

"For Mr Bachchan, I didn't have an alternative as it's a conflict drama, conflict between two people and the kind of and the kind of presence he has, I didn't have any other alternative."

Further talking about the film, if has been a blind landing in real life and have your blind landings been successfull. He jokingly said, 

"Maine plane toh kabhi udaya nahi haa but in life, I have done particularly toh yaad toh nahi hai mai risk leta rehta hu I take chances some fall in place, some don't fall in place."

In Runway 34, Amitabh Bachchan plays an investigative officer who vows to find out what pilot Vikram Khanna's true objectives are. According to Vikram, at such trying circumstances aboard, a pilot becomes the passengers' lone saviour on the one hand. Aboard the other hand, everything that occurs on the plane falls within his control. Boman Irani, Adhira Dhar, and Aakanksha Singh also feature in the film.
