Shah Rukh Khan Quits Smoking After 30 Years, Admits Feeling 'Breathless'

Shah Rukh Khan, who turned 59 on November 2, 2024, joyously marked his birthday at a special meet and greet, engaging with numerous fans. At the event, SRK shared that he has successfully ended his 30-year smoking habit. Despite his expectations, he admitted to feeling more 'breathless' than anticipated but expressed determination to improve.

Shah Rukh Khan happily declared, “I am not smoking anymore guys,” to the joy of his fans. He expressed, “Mujhe aisa laga tha ki I will not feel so breathless, but abhi bhi feel kar raha hu.” The actor reassured that he was still in the process of catching up and believed that everything would soon be fine by God’s grace.

Following Shah Rukh's declaration, a fan pledged to quit smoking cigarettes starting that day, inspired by the actor. In reply, SRK advised him to listen to his heart. He emphasized that he wasn't a 'role model' and encouraged people to follow their desires at any given moment in their lives.

He remarked, “It is the worst thing that after smoking for 30 years I’m giving the advice, ‘Don’t smoke.’” Shah Rukh highlighted that everyone is aware that smoking is detrimental. He expressed that it would be ‘good’ if they could quit and ‘bad’ if they couldn’t. Concluding, he stated, “But having said that, jo cheez me jaisa lage apne apne time me waisa waisa karo.”

Shah Rukh Khan not only celebrated his birthday with his fans but also with his family and closest friends. Gauri Khan, his wife, shared a touching picture from the festivities. The image captured SRK cutting a cake as Gauri placed a hand on his arm, with their daughter, Suhana Khan, applauding her father in the background.
