Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh Team Up for Mr India 2?

Here’s some good news for all Shah Rukh Khan fans as the actor may soon be seen teaming up with Ranveer Singh for director Ali Abbas Zafar’s Mr.India 2. 

Reportedly, the 1987 classic film that featured Anil Kapoor and Sridevi is all set to have a remake and Ali is ready to give the sci-fic film a fresh spin and a contemporary set up to the existing concept of the original film.

While Ranveer is touted to step into the shoes of Anil Kapoor and head the titular role of Mr.India, Shah Rukh Khan has been approached to play the antagonist Mogambo, played by Amrish Puri in the original film.

“It is Ali’s dream project and he has been silently working on it for a while now. The idea is to give a fresh spin to the already existing concept of Mr. India by getting it to the contemporary set-up. The film will be mounted on a never seen before scale, and will be among the biggest film to come out of Bollywood” Bollywood Hungama quoted a source as saying.

The report also adds that Ranveer has heard the script, and even liked it. On the other hand, there has been no confirmation from Khan’s side. 

As per reports, the film will neither be a sequel nor a remake but a spin-off of the original which will be set in modern times. Ali has even locked the first draft, and makers are keen to have a 2022 festive release for the film.

Well, if everything goes as planned, it will be exciting to see the two talented actors share screen space for the very first time!

Meanwhile, Ali Abbas Zafar is currently gearing up for his next, a superhero flick starring Katrina Kaif.
