Actor Harshvardhan Rane is currently enjoying the success of the re-release of his film Sanam Teri Kasam 2. He has been part of numerous films in various languages, but it was his 2016 hit, Sanam Teri Kasam, that really struck a chord with audiences. Although he remains active in the industry, he tends to stay out of the spotlight and doesn't often show up at Bollywood parties. In a recent interview, he shared that fans probably won’t catch him on podcasts, as he feels actors tend to ramble on too much.
In a recent chat with Bollywood Hungama, Harshvardhan Rane shared his thoughts on the podcast trend and why he prefers not to participate in them. He mentioned that after actors talk a lot on podcasts, they often feel proud of what they've said, thinking, "Wow, I really nailed it!" He pointed out that celebrities sometimes feel like they're getting therapy when people applaud their comments.
Harshvardhan described podcasts as "psychologically satisfying," which can lead people to say random things that don't actually help promote their upcoming films. He noted that many great podcasts have aired, but they didn't translate into more viewers for the movies being discussed. Because of this, he doesn't see the value in participating, as it mainly benefits the podcast host.
He also compared it to distributing pamphlets for films, saying at least that doesn’t bring anyone down, unlike what can happen in a podcast. The actor emphasized that his main concern is about getting people to actually watch the film.
He mentioned that he would go to great lengths if it would benefit him, even jokingly saying he would jump out of a window for the right opportunity. So, when people invite him to join a podcast, his first question is always, "Conversion kitna hota hai?" (How much is the conversion?). If they can’t provide an answer, he won’t participate. He confidently stated, “If the podcast helps me, then I could sit in front of the mic all day!”
On the work front, Sanam Teri Kasam was re-released in theaters on February 7, 2025, and is getting a warm reception from audiences. The film, written and directed by Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao, originally came out in 2016 and features Harshvardhan Rane alongside Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane in the lead roles.
