Samriddhi Shukla: 'I now know what looks good on me and what doesn’t'

Samriddhi Shukla, who continues to captivate the audience's heart with her performance as Abhira in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, shared that her on-screen roles have helped in shaping her overall fashion and style. She said, “By playing dress-up and acting every day, the way I carry myself and dress up has really evolved. I now know what looks good on me and what doesn’t.”

“This has shaped the way I present myself personally as well. And that’s growth, that’s grooming—that’s exactly what it is. So yes, it has definitely helped,” she added.

And while she is sure about her clothes, she stressed that fitting matters, and it instantly lifts up her mood. She said, “I believe fitting really matters—and something I feel very comfortable in. So, a good, fitted, comfortable costume. If I'm going for a casual day, then probably some shorts and a T-shirt.”

But if she is in a lousy mood, she goes for boxer shorts and a loose T-shirt. “And if I’m going for a party, then a very nice, well-fitted gown, a dress, or a short dress—I would love that,” she added.

But she doesn’t have a style icon. She said, “I don't have anybody specific in mind. But the way I like to dress is always elegant, poised, and classy. I think I relate to that better. I believe grace looks better on me, and I want to be known as someone who is graceful.”

When not in front of the camera, comfort matters more. “Comfort is very, very important to me. When I’m not shooting, I wear clothes that are easy to move in and make me feel relaxed. I love denim shorts and an oversized tee; they look cool and feel super comfy. I really believe that if you feel good in what you wear, you’ll also look good in it.”

And she enjoys getting dressed up for red carpet events and award shows. “I get to wear beautiful gowns and stylish outfits—it’s fun and exciting. But to be honest, once it’s all done, I can’t wait to go home and change into my pajamas. Nothing feels better than relaxing in loose clothes after a long event!” Samriddhi ended.
