'Won't be coming back as Roohi': Garvita Sadhwani confirms exit from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

Television shows often go through multiple cast changes as storylines evolve and new phases begin. One such development has been confirmed by actress Garvita Sadhwani, who played the role of Roohi in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Garvita officially announced her departure from the show and clarified that she would not be returning. She shared a note with her followers, reflecting on her time as Roohi and what the journey meant to her both professionally and personally.

Her statement read: This is to confirm my exit from Yrkkh. Overwhelmed with all the love and acceptance you gave to Roohi – a fictional character that felt so real. For 1.5 years, I gave my heart and soul trying to deliver the most honest performance possible… this was the most wholesome learning curve, I have grown as an actor, as a person and I will forever be grateful for this magical journey.

Garvita further described Roohi as a layered character, adding: For me Roohi was an emotion, as human and as grey as it gets but at the core of it she was just a child full of life, all heart. I had my ups and downs with this character but I always saw her as a dark tunnel but also the light at the end of the tunnel.

She called her exit a “beautiful end” and extended gratitude to the team behind the show: Thank you Star Plus, Rajan Sir and Shahi Productions for giving me this opportunity. Thank you my dearest fans for loving and relentlessly asking everyday for the last 2 months about my return... I am so touched.

Garvita ended her note by confirming she won’t return as Roohi but expressed hope that viewers would continue to support her future work: I won't be coming back as Roohi, but as Garvita I hope you'll love me forever.
