Amid the controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia's comments on India’s Got Latent, comedian Samay Raina has decided to cancel his shows in Gujarat. The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) announced on Wednesday that Raina will no longer be performing in the state, and his tickets have been removed from the BookMyShow platform.
According to VHP spokesperson Hitendrasinh Rajput, Raina had initially scheduled four performances in Gujarat. He was set to perform in Surat on April 17, Vadodara on April 18, and Ahmedabad on April 19 and 20. Rajput talked to Hindustan Times regarding the same.
It appears all these four shows have been cancelled due to public outrage against him in Gujarat. Though tickets for these shows were available till morning (of Wednesday) on BookMyShow, it seems they have been now taken down from the portal

“In view of the anger among people, it appears organisers have cancelled Samay Raina’s upcoming shows in Gujarat. We are thankful to the people of Gujarat for showing such alertness. I also ask organisers to refrain from organising events of such people in Gujarat," he said.
This situation unfolds as Samay Raina faces criticism due to Ranveer Allahbadia’s recent remarks on India’s Got Latent. Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, reportedly asked a contestant an inappropriate question during a recent episode, involving body parts and suggesting an indecent act in exchange for Rs 2 crore. The backlash intensified when he posed a particularly controversial question: “Would you watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?"
Although Ranveer has already expressed regret for his comments, Samay also released a statement on Wednesday night, announcing that he has removed all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube.
“Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all ‘India’s Got Latent’ videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you," he said.
