Salman Khan's newest shade

Bollywood's very own macho man, Salman Khan will be seen in a totally new avatar very soon: for the first time in his career, the actor is all set to play a negative character in his upcoming release, Dabangg.

Salman is putting all his efforts into this role, having opted for it to be his sole project at the moment. He has deferred all other movies, including those with directors David Dhawan and Sajid Nadiadwala, for this one mega project.

To further seal the success of this movie, Salman has made sure that the film be slated to release on Eid day later this year. The success of Wanted last year, which was also released on Eid, has made him believe that particular time is fortuitous for him.

The film is currently scheduled to release on September 30, 2010. Dabangg, which means 'fearless cop', is brother Arbaaz Khan's production debut. Salman plays a vociferous, corrupt policeman based in the north while Arbaaz plays his cousin.
