Salman Khan Speaks on Industry’s Silence Over Sikandar: “Sabko Zaroorat Padti Hai"

Salman Khan’s latest film, Sikandar, may have received mixed reviews, but his star power remains unshaken. Despite the criticism, the action-packed entertainer has managed to collect over ?85 crore in just three days and is well on its way to entering the ?100-crore club, marking Salman’s 18th film to achieve this feat.

Amid the discussions surrounding Sikandar, a clip from Salman’s interview with Bollywood Bubble has gone viral, bringing attention to the selective support within Bollywood. In the interview, the host pointed out that many industry members have remained silent about Sikandar, even though Salman is known for promoting the films of his colleagues.

Reacting to this, Salman candidly said, “Unko aisa lagta hoga ki zaroorat nahin padti mujhe.” (Maybe they think that I don’t need their support.) However, he quickly clarified, “But, sabko zaroorat padti hai.” (Everybody needs support, including me.)

Despite the lack of industry-wide backing for Sikandar, Salman showed his continued support for fellow actors and filmmakers. He gave a shoutout to Sunny Deol’s upcoming action film Jaat, which is slated for release on April 10, 2025. He also spoke about the Malayalam blockbuster L2: Empuraan, starring Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, which released just two days before Sikandar and is already setting records at the box office.

Interestingly, among Bollywood actors, Sunny Deol was the only one who openly supported Sikandar, posting a social media shoutout for Salman’s film. While Aamir Khan did appear in a promotional video alongside Salman and director AR Murugadoss, the overall silence from the industry has been noticeable. Despite the debates around industry support, Sikandar is proving that Salman Khan’s box-office pull remains as strong as ever.
