RRR sets record for highest opening as the film collects 257Cr on its first day

According to trade reports, SS Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR began strongly, generating 257 crore worldwide on its opening day. As a result, it achieved the best first-day performance of any Indian film in history. Furthermore, it outperformed Rajamouli's last film, Baahubali: The Conclusion, which debuted with 224 crore. 

Manobala Vijayabalan, a trade expert, tweeted the film's opening day profits on Saturday morning, reporting that it collected 257.15 crore. This sum includes revenues of 120 crore from Andhra and Telangana alone, as well as 78 crore in claimed earnings from outside the country. 

He tweeted, "#RRRMovie makes box office history," followed by a breakdown of the film's earnings by territory. "First Indian film ever to earn this much money on the first day," he tweeted. 

According to BoxOfficeIndia.com, the Hindi dubbed version of the film grossed 19 crore in the northern regions alone, well above the earnings of other recent South films. Pushpa: The Rise and Radhe Shyam's Hindi translations, both starring Prabhas, grossed over 3-4 crore on their first days. 

The film has also been a success outside of India. According to trade analysts, the film made more than $5 million (about 38 crore) on its first day in the United States and is expected to make $15 million (approximately 114 crore) over the course of its opening weekend. It also surpassed The Batman as the highest-grossing film in India on Friday, grossing 4 crore. 

The film, which cost more than 300 crore to produce, debuted on a record-breaking number of screens throughout the world on Friday. RRR is a fictional story based on the lives of two real-life heroes and well-known revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Rajuand Komaram Bheem, set in the 1920s before India's independence.

The film also features Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Samuthirakani, and Shriya Saran was dubbed and released in Hindi as well.
