Rishi Kapoor's uncle Prem Chopra opens up about his Call to Neetu Kapoor!

Rishi Kapoor’s untimely death was a shock to the entire nation as he has finally started on his journey to heavenly adobe. His demise has left a void amongst Bollywood fraternity and the entire Kapoor Khandan. Bollywood lost a gem but, fans have been trying their best to prosses the reality as many fail to believe Rishi Kapoor is no more. 

While everyone in B-town took to their social media to remember the actor, Prem Chopra too poured his heart out about the loss of Bollywood’s legendary actor.

In a recent interaction with SpotboyE, Rishi Kapoor’s uncle Prem Chopra talked about his call to Neetu Kapoor and explained how the thought that we will not see Rishi off-screen anymore saddened them. He even said that he was sad that he couldn’t go for the funeral due to the lockdown. 

I called Neetu. She and Ranbir have taken it bravely. Think of it, he was sick for 2 years. But yes, I met him soon after he had come back from his treatment in the US. It was my birthday, September 23 (2019), and he had come to my house.“After that, I had gone to his place. He was looking very nice and told me there that he was clear as far as the cancer was concerned. But he added that his immunity had gone down and he needed to take rest. After that, he contracted pneumonia and was hospitalized. It’s a tremendous loss. He was very close to me. He was a very intelligent actor, who also worked very hard.”

He further concluded expressing his views openly. Prem Chopra also remembered his days from the films with Rishi. 

He had a mind of his own, never minced words. He would express his views, openly. It did make some people misunderstand him but they used to come back later and say they’ve understood his perspective. I played his Dad in Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi.

In 2018, Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with cancer for the first time, following which the actor was in New York for nearly a year to undergo treatment. He returned to India in September 2019 after recovering.

However, the actor faced a cancer relapse and succumbed to death. Rishi is survived by his wife Neetu Kapoor and kids Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahani.
