Entertainment came in a month earlier this year as Bigg Boss Season 12 begins this week. Just like every year, its the most talked about show of the year already, courtesy the innumerable list of names that kept popping up as probable contestants for the season.

The commoner vs. celebrity concept remained intact given that its been doing well for the last two seasons!

So, here's our take on what was is the winner and what is the loser from the premiere episode!

Winner: Salman Khan, just like always!

Salman Khan continues to be the entertaining self that he is, and right from the very start he is at it. Salman Khan's spontaneity does after all has no match, and he just has his way with contestants, building up a rapport with them effortlessly. Also, he is after all one great host for Colors or any other channel could have for that matter, courtesy the way he emphasises on brands.

Loser: The concept of Vichitra Jodis

The VMs of the jodis come across as over dramatic and while the agenda was to showcase their real stories, it looked anything but real. Looks like there's been a big epic fail in getting celebrity jodis, and all they have come across as are forced jodis as commoners in the name of vichitra.

There are contestants who might turn a good watch, but they have failed to keep up with the concept in doing so.

Winner: The Outhouse and elimination on the first day

The idea of a outhouse and two Jodis in the house prior to the opening episode is a novel idea.  And we loved the elimination of not one but two people in the first episode already!

Loser: The Panel members

The panel can do a better job than just laughing. While Dibang did try to come across as staunch and ask questions, courtesy his experience the other jodi members just don't make an impact. There's little that Shilpa or Manveer Gurjar did in terms of questioning and decide who has got the upper hand. In fact Manveer hardly spoke!

Winner: Introduction of Minute concepts

Weekend Ka Vaar will see a Bigg Night on a Sunday and that is what also gave way to a panel, which included Bigg Boss Season 11 Shilpa Shinde, Bigg Boss Season 10 winner Manveer Gurjar along with ABP News reporter Dibang and Aaj Tak's Shweta Singh.

The Bigg Boss stage this time saw an addition of the Bigg Band and from the looks of it, we'll see it every time we see Salman Khan on screen.

The punching chair for instance, or Deepak and Urvashi's entry in a cage are some of the new additions we think worked out well. Or, even the top ki salami for that matter was a fun session for both the contestants and the viewers.

Something else that will in fact turn out to be a great buzz is the time slot for this year. Instead of the 10:30 time slot, Bigg Boss Season 12 will take the 9 pm time slot all 7 days of the week, and well, it sure will help the channel get numbers.

Loser: The Performances and stage timing

The acts turned out to be a major disappointment considering the kind of performances we've seen in the past.  Dipika, for instance didn't really perform at all, and Karanvir's act also left no impact due to lack of sufficient timing.  Some of the introductions looked rushed!
The celebrities haven't been given sufficient attention. And hence the commoner seems to look more like a celebrity with their done up AVs while celebrity time is cut down in their performances.  The only two celeb performances which were decent were that of Srishty Rode and Sreesanth.

The Trump Card

The Casting of the show seems to be excellent. In fact, looks like a lot of efforts has been out by the creative team into casting the commoners.  While we aren't sold at the jodi concept, some of the commoners seem to be genuinely interesting. Take for example, Deepak, who talks in a rather funny manner and doesn't stop; or Shivashish Mishra who maybe super rich and wears the best of brands but can't pronounce them clearly.  We like the casting of the commoners which we think will make this show a winner!  As for the celebrities, they have yet to make an impact and that could be due to the channel having not given them enough space for an introduction.  But yes, the celebs are definitely outnumbered by the commoners!

The Final Verdict

This season of Bigg Boss could turn out to be a game changer, but it might lose the very essence of the concept by the time season finale arrives.

However, with Bigg Boss, things can be unpredictable and we think the legacy of controversies associated with the show will continue with this season too.

A mix of negatives and positives, I suggest you watch out for this season and decide for yourself if or not it is a buzz kill.

I disagree with your 1st point.
Firstly- you stop bootlicking that budha,
he is OTT and his lame jokes and khi khi khi (yuck) was unbearable to watch.
Secondly, The concept of "Vichitra jodi" is realy interesting.
