Kolkata, Dec 11 (IANS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Sunday announced that the state government will sanction the remaining Rs.8 crore for setting up a state-of-the-art technician's studio for the Bengali film industry in the next budget.

'We have already sanctioned Rs.18 crore for a technician's studio in Tollywood. We have already sanctioned Rs.10 crore in this year's budget. Next year we will sanction the remaining Rs.8 crore. We have to make this technician's studio,' Banerjee said while addressing a programme here.

She said the government also plans to start a pension scheme for the elderly technicians of the film industry.

'The condition of the technicians is very bad, especially the old technicians. We also plan to start a pension scheme for them,' she said.

Banerjee also requested the directors and the producers not to pressurize the actors and actress to take up crash dieting.

'Most of the actors don't eat to stay fit. I would request the producers and directors not to force them for dieting. Because if they don't eat, their brains will not work,' said Banerjee.
