2018 was truly a year to celebrate for the Kapoor cousins - Ranveer Singh & Sonam K Ahuja!

Not only were the fans across the country celebrating their much-talked-about weddings but also rooting for their films, as the two officially went on to become the undisputed male and female stars at the 2018 box office.

Ranveer & Sonam delivered the highest opening numbers last year as per official trade reports. While Ranveer Singh's films Padmaavat and Simmba were the most talked about this year and made a splash at the box office, Sonam K Ahuja starred in the hits Sanju, Padman and Veere Di Wedding, whose combined box office numbers were on par some leading male stars.

Says a trade source, "Ranveer & Sonam were the clear favorites at the 2018 box office. Ranveer's opening week numbers totaled to 52,86,00,000 with his total week figures being 68,66,00,000.

Sonam, on the other hand, was the best opening actress of the year with opening week numbers being 34,46,66,667 and total week figures to the tune of 50,77,66,667.

2019 too is looking up for the stars as the trailers of both Gully Boy & Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga took the internet by storm".
