The wedding season this year started on a high note. After the two-year lull due to the pandemic, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) had estimated about 3.2 million weddings in the months of November and December. It's definitely a huge number as compared to what it was in the last decade. People are also spending a lot of money on the occasion. This Indian obsession with weddings has also been glorified by films and TV. Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai actor Ranndeep R Rai shares his take on Indian weddings, whether he loves dressing up and attending weddings. He also talks about low key and private weddings.

“I think it depends completely on person to person. I believe everyone goes a little out of the way to get married in special ways. There are some people who have everything but love to do low-key weddings,” he says.

About the kind of wedding he enjoys, Ranndeep adds, “If you ask me I would want to have a big celebration with only very close family and friends. People do a lot of things for weddings. It’s a very big day for everyone. Many people have dreamt of having a fairytale wedding and also it’s a one-time event, so it really depends on people. I also think that so much money should not be used only here but also invested towards your dreams or for your growth or spend elsewhere.”
