Rang De India is a show by Star plus to celebrate ’s 58th year as a Republic and pay homage to our freedom fighters and martyrs through music. Apart from that, Star also aims to bring about harmony among the different general entertainment channels by presenting the contestants of television’s biggest reality shows Star Voice of India, Sony’s Indian Idol and Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge performing together on the same platform.
"Rang De India will not only be a visual and a musical treat for the music lovers across the country, but also the largest pot pourri of talented and popular youngsters from various talent hunt shows across Indian television spreading the message of unity and harmony to all the Indians viewing the show", says Anupama Mandloi, Senior Creative Director, Star Plus stating the thought behind Rang De India.
The show brings together the likes of Voice of India winner Ishmeet Singh Sodi, Harshit Saxena, Ashprit,
Sumitra Iyer, Priyani and Irfan Khan,
Sa Re Ga singers Vineet Singh, Rajeev, Hemchandra and Indian Idol stars Prajakta Shukre, Rahul Vaidya and Karunya.
These stars will be seen rendering some mind-blowing
performances as they try and match each others vocal chords. It will be quite
interesting to watch Rajeev
performing with Prajakta as they
team up to sing Rang de Basanti and quite worthwhile to see the VOI and Sa Re
Ga Ma Pa runners up Harsheet and Vineet giving a scintillating encore
with the ever popular patriotic song kar chale hum fida jaano tan saathiyo. The highpoint of the show will be the laudable performance of Alka Yagnik singing Ai mere watan ke logon.
The performances will surely bring a tear to one’s eyes.
To tone
down the mood, there will be some power packed performances by Shaan singing Om Shanti Om, and some of the contestants performing Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and Khalbali Hai Khalbali among
others.
