It has almost been 15 years since Ranbir Kapoor stepped into the industry and has garnered a humongous fan base for himself. Throughout the journey from Sawaariya to Sanju, the actor has given multiple hits and some immaculate performances. But even with his stellar acting skills, there were a few films of Ranbir's that couldn't do well at the box office just like it happens with an array of actors.

After a hiatus of 4 years, Kapoor is all set to make a come back to the big screens with two back to back releases, Shamshera and Brahmastra.

Since the past few days, Kapoor has been on a promotional spree for his period drama along with Vaani Kapoor. In a recent media interaction, India Forums got in touch with the actor. We asked Ranbir, 'Having delayed films has been an unfortunate constant with you. Jagga Jasoos, Brahmastra, Shamshera and so on. The sad trend that has also been constant is that delayed films in general have not worked at the box office. How does this play out for you as an actor, where you have also been a producer in the past?'

Shedding light on the same, Ranbir remarked,

"You know to be honest when the film is delayed, it has many factors attached to it. I am not a director, I am just an actor. So, I am an employed talent on the film where I am told by the director that you have to be at the set on this time, this is what we are shooting. When Brahmastra's delays are concerned, I think when we started the film, we weren't prepared for the animal that it was. It had too much of special effects."

 He further added,

"We were learning as we were making it but the intention for every film of mine - be it the ones I have produced or not is that to make it the best of its capability. It was never ever, like we were never lazy about it. We are always working. Delay means that a lot of reshoots happen and there is nothing wrong with it because eventually the audience is going to see the end product. So if you shot for 40 days, 100 days or 140 days, your product should be good."

Adding to it he stated,

"Where Shamshera is concerned, I don't think Shamshera was delayed as much. I heard the film in 2018, we shot for 140 days and we had no reshoots. Our producer is very precise on where his money is going so it was not that Karan had like a field to play that jao jo bana na hai banao. But yes, Brahmastra has been delayed for many reasons but I am hoping that the film has its merits when it releases and the audience doesn't see the delays and they just see the product."

Talking about how it affects him as an actor Kapoor expressed,

"it tests your patience, but its not in my hands. I am not that kind of an actor who puts a gun on the directors head and say 'bhai mere paas itne hi dates hai khatam kardo' I understand if the director is saying something he is saying for the greater good. He wants to make a better film. So I like the process of creating and making it to the best of its capability."

Shmashera is slated to hit the big screens on 22nd of July while Brahmastra will release on 9th September.
