Yash will soon start his work on Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. For years, people have been complaining on why makers do not make films based on Indian mythology. The stories that we have can make for compelling art on the big screen. In the past two years, a number of mythology based movies have been announced. Ramayana is supposed to be like the NezHa movies of China. Yash is playing Ravana in the magnum opus. He will kick-start his journey by seeking blessings from the Mahakaleshwar Temple of Ujjain. Ramayana is supposed to be made on a budget of above Rs 500 crores. The first film will come in Diwali 2026, and the second one a year later.

Vicky Kaushal will be playing Lord Parashurama, the eternal warrior of Dharma in a film directed by Amar Kaushik. This is his third venture with Maddock. As we know, Parashurama is an avatar of Lord Vishnu. The first look of the Punjabi actor has left people spell-bound.

Kantara 2

Kantara 2 is coming in theatres in October 2025. The first movie told the story of Panjurli Daiva, the local deity of Tulu region. The film appealed to every Indian as the concept of a Kul-devta or Kshetrapal exists in all parts of the country. Kantara 2 traces the origins of Panjurli Daiva blending mythology, folklore and intrigue for a big screen watch.

The devotion, valour and love that Lord Hanuman had for Lord Rama inspires every practising Hindu. Rishab Shetty will start his work on this movie after he winds up Kantara 2. We do not know the story of Jai Hanuman, but it will show Bajrangbali with a human face.

Prasanth Varma has also announced Mahakali. It is a superhero film based on the fierce Goddess known as the ultimate destroyer of evil, and protector of Dharma. He has also cast Akshaye Khanna for the film. It seems he will cast actors from West Bengal and shoot in the state. The movie is about discrimination, inner strength, resilience and empowerment.
