Ram Kapoor relieved that controversy did not affect Mistry; reveals how he pacified his 'berserk' family

Ram Kapoor’s latest series Mistry is getting a lot of appreciation from viewers. It is streaming on Jio Hotstar. Ram Kapoor was dropped from the promotions of Mistry after some team members complained of the actor allegedly passing inappropriate comments. One of them was a statement on female team member’s outfit that apparently upset a few. In his latest interview with Zoom, the Mistry actor said he is the happiest now as the controversy did not impact public perception towards his work. He admitted that he was “nervous and so scared” because of the scandal. Ram Kapoor said he hardly gets nervous. He said, “I'm always a positive person. This time, I was very nervous. The fact that nobody has allowed all this to matter to the show is something that I will forever be thankful for.”

The actor said his family’s reaction surprised him. He said they reacted too strongly, as he told them that he would manage it. Ram Kapoor said he felt it was a situation that needed to be handled but it was not a big deal. He said, “When this news hit, my family, my network and my staff went berserk. And I was telling everyone, 'Why are you all reacting so much? I will handle it.' And I did handle it.”

The actor is known to pull the leg of his co-stars or people around him. Ram Kapoor said his colleagues and acquaintances called him up, laughed on the phone and said they knew once he would get into trouble. He signed off saying he did get a lot of support.
