Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh must be enjoying all the love and attention from all quarters since yesterday as she turned a year older on the 11th of October. The Yaariyan actress has been a part of showbiz for over a decade now and has featured in a number of movies across different industries and languages like Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. And the actress is not taking a break anytime soon.
Recently, talking to Pinkvilla, Rakul denied that her parents showed any hesitation when she discussed the topics of Doctor G and Chhatriwali with them. The actress said, "Not at all. The main thing is that my parents are really supportive, that's the whole point right? None of these movies... even if we discuss Doctor G... what's the story? It concerns a male doctor who practices gynaecology."
She further said, "It’s just unfortunate that we sort of have that taboo but as per statistics some of the best gynaecologists in the country are male doctors. And why do we have to look differently at a reproductive organ than your heart, your brain, or other systems in your body. You know it’s a doctor’s job to treat you. Now how does it matter if the doctor is a male or a female, and that’s the conversation we are trying to have.”
Both Doctor G and Chhatriwali are films that wish to start a dialogue. The reception of these films will be observed keenly since it will give a clear indication of whether the audience is willing to step out to watch films concerned with highlighting social issues. Doctor G is all set to release on October 14.
The actress last release was also a crime thriller. she featured in Cuttputlli, a remake of the 2018 Tamil film Ratasan, alongside Akshay Kumar.
