Rakesh Roshan Calls Sussanne ‘Family’ Despite Divorce from Hrithik Roshan, Says It Was a ‘Misunderstandings'

Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan ended their 14-year marriage in 2014, yet they continue to maintain a close bond. Whether it's celebrating special occasions or spending time with their children, they are often seen together. In a recent conversation with Yuvaa, Hrithik’s father, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, shared his thoughts on their divorce and emphasized that Sussanne remains a valued member of their family.

Rakesh Roshan expressed how, despite their separation, his feelings for Sussanne have not changed.

Whatever happened was between the couple. For me, Sussanne is still Sussanne. They were in love, they had a misunderstanding—that is for them to resolve. As for us, she came into our house as family, and she still remains a member of the family.

Interestingly, Hrithik and Sussanne have never publicly disclosed the reason behind their split. However, their mutual respect and friendly co-parenting continue to set an example.

When asked if Hrithik discusses his personal life with him, Rakesh revealed that his son and daughter have always been slightly hesitant. He admitted, “Hrithik and my daughter are a little scared of me. I don’t know, maybe because I am a well-disciplined man. I am not short-tempered, nor am I someone who scolds others, but I am very disciplined… When they were little, they wouldn’t talk to me openly. Now they do. Now, we are like friends at home.”

Hrithik and Sussanne, who tied the knot in 2000 after dating for four years, share two sons—Hrehaan and Hridaan. Even after parting ways, they remain supportive of each other. Both have moved on in their lives—Sussanne is in a relationship with Arslan Goni, while Hrithik is dating Saba Azad.

The two couples are often seen together, whether at parties or vacations. Earlier this year, they celebrated the New Year in Dubai. Sussanne even shared a picture on Instagram featuring herself, Arslan, Hrithik, Hridaan, and Uday Chopra, along with Nargis Fakhri and her rumored boyfriend, Tony Beig.
