"I do not relate much with positive characters" - Prachee Pathak

Colors has newly launched its show Udann which has Prachee Pathak playing a prominent character of a thakurain in the show speaks to TellyBuzz in this exclusive chat about her characterization, her association with Mahesh Bhatt and much more. Read on!

How is your character in Udann?

I am essaying the role of Rajnandini Singh which is extremely interesting. My character of thakurain in the show is very different from the characters that I have portrayed in the past. This Rajnandini thakurain is a very dynamic woman who rules everyone but at the same time she is very sophisticated. It is not a total black character. You can call it a character of a woman with a splash of grey shade. The best part about the character is it is very relatable and natural; something that you see people like in our common lives and too dramatic and over the top.

Like I said, my character has a shade of grey and in the show, I am the only person doing all the bad things in the house.

How good it is to be associated with Mahesh Bhatt?

All of us feel so blessed that we are associated with Mahesh Bhatt in some manner. We just hope that all of us manage to live up to his expectations and do justice to the characters given to us.

We have always seen in either negative or grey shade. Is it that positive characters do not impress you much?

I have done a positive character for Colors Jai Shri Krishna but somehow I feel I cannot relate to the positive characters. What's good with negative characters is that you can show variations with your acting. It is an image that is formed in everyone's mind which I want to change. If something interesting comes my way, I will definitely take up.

Anything to your fans?

All I would like to convey to my fans is that Udann is a wonderful show with a unique concept unlike the common saas-bahu saga. I feel each and every person has the right to dream no matter how rich or poor he/she is. Usko koi bedi nahi band sakte. Insaan ko jab Udan lena hai toh wo lekar rahega. Complications ke beggar us udan me kuch maza nahi ayega.
