#PromoReview: Priyank Sharma-Harshita Gaur starrer Puncch Beat's first look seems PROMISING!

Ekta Kapoor's online streaming platform Alt Balaji has outdone all the others. Shows like Gandi Baat, Apaharan and Broken But Beautiful have not just won hearts but have also aced the online TRP charts. While a lot of interesting stories are still in pipeline, one of the most talked about upcoming series is Puncch Beat starring actors like Priyank Sharma and Harshita Gaur.

Recently, Vikas Gupta, who has created the show, shared the promo announcing that it will stream from this Valentine's. Here's a brief analysis of the promo:

What is it about?

Puncch beat is an intense school drama and a story about punches that will set your feet tapping to the beats. The story revolves around four students Ranbir, Rahat, Divyanka and Padmini studying in a prestigious school named Rosewood High. In the first look it seems like a love triangle and has got every element- love, drama, emotion, action, dance and romance. The opening sequence also gave us a little Mohobbatein feels- the opening of the door, the prestigious school and it's values. Nonetheless, we like it.  

What's good?

The first look of the show is very compelling and attractive. School dramas, as a matter of fact are always quite engaging and relatable, as we have all lived it at some point of time, only the series has all the dramatic moments that we couldn't live, so it seems all the more appealing. All four actors look promising in their roles as expected.

What's not so good?

Won't call it a copy or remake, but it does seem to be inspired by Karan Johar's hit movie Student Of The Year. The love triangle, romance and fights remind us of it, and though it might be totally different from what the film was, the first look suggests it is kind of similar.

Verdict:

Recently, ALT Balaji has created quality content and looking at the kind of work they have done, we can totally count on Puncch Beat. Even if the storyline somehow seems a cliche school drama story, we hope the treatment is very different from other films and shows. The first look of the series is promising and we're totally looking forward to it.
