Pratibha Tiwarri: I Have no Plans on Returning to Television!

Gemplex India’s newly launched series, Khushfemiyaan depicts the story of Peter and his three chefs, who fall in love with his daughter. Starring Nasir Abdulla, Pratibha Tiwarri, Maitrik Thakkar, Aman Tyagi and Ankit Raizada, the series is six episodes long and set in the exotic locations of Goa. The series is directed by Vishal Kumar Patil and produced by Prakash Tiwari and Rohan Tiwari.

Actress Pratibha Tiwarri, known for her roles in popular shows like Ishqbaaaz and Saath Nibhana Saathiya is playing the female lead in the series. 

Talking to India Forums, the actress got candid about the web series and her experiences.

What according to you is Khushfemiyaan?

It’s basically a story about three guys and a girl called Carol. Also, it is a story between a father and daughter wherein the girl is very close to her father. She is a dream predictor, who sees dreams and predict what will happen in the future. There’s this dream in which she sees that her father will die. This calls her back to India. 

These three guys who are running my father’s cafe are trying to impress me. There’s a little bit of suspense which you’ll come to know about later in the story. So, this is basically a story about a father and her daughter and also the three guys, who makes it a little crispier with their pranks and also the kind of gestures they do to impress Carol.

How would you define your character from the series and how is it different from your previous on-screen characters?

It’s way too different from the characters that I have played till now. I would say that I have played a character around Carol but not really the same character as Carol is not an Indian character. She is half Indian and half Russian. And me being an Indian, I think I would very different from foreigners, they are different in appearances plus they have different reactions to everything as compared to us. And also, it is a little bit bolder than what I have done so far.

I loved playing this character, Earlier, I have done a couple of TV shows where you have to play saas-bahu type of character. There you play the same character for years and it becomes monotonous. In Saath Nibhana Saathiya, I played the same role for a year.

Why did you choose the series?

The story because the very first thing I look at is the story. Later on, I go for the director, experiences and other stuff.

Any plans on returning to Television?

No, Frankly speaking, I want to go ahead, I don’t wanna come back. I have already done two-three shows and a few web series apart from this. I want to go for films and web series but for serials only if something big comes up. Otherwise, I have no plans.
