Pongal albums may do better than films

Chennai, Jan 24 (IANS) Although the Pongal films have been a big let down, the albums are quite good. The audios reached the market just a few days before the release of the films and the delay will definitely affect the albums.

The top five Tamil albums are:

1. 'Kaalai' - Music Director: G.V. Prakash. This is an interesting album from young Prakash. The song 'Kaala kaala' sung by actress Mamta Mohandas and Benny is a huge hit.

2. 'Billa' - Music Director: Yuvan Shankar Raja - Though there are new Pongal releases, the remix 'My name is Billa' continues to be a rage.

3. 'Bheema' - Music Director: Harris Jayaraj. With the film's release, the songs are once again back. It is a very good album by the composer.

4. 'Pirivom Sandippom' - Music Director: Vidyasagar. After Mozhi, Vidyasagar has come out with an album that has only melody.

5. 'Vazhthukal' - Music Director: Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film may be boring, but songs by Yuvan have caught the listeners' fancy.
