Playing perfect father is best role ever: Shah Rukh

New Delhi, June 2 (IANS) Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan dotes on his two children - Aryan and Suhana - and says playing a perfect father to them is the best role he has ever got in real life.

'Being a parent is the greatest joy for me and playing the perfect father is the best role ever! Whilst I am the actor-entertainer, it's definitely my children who offer unconditional love and bring entertainment and joy to my life,' Shah Rukh said in a statement.

The actor, who is married to childhood sweetheart Gauri Khan for the past 19 years, says parenting and spending quality time with children are the biggest issues faced by people these days.

'By the grace of god, I have two lovely kids and each time I am away from home for long, I make sure that on return I spend enough time and catch up with them. I'm sure a lot of fathers today go through this guilt as they may have missed seeing their child grow.

'In most cases, fathers never realise this as they have been busy with work, office meetings, deals and catching up with friends that they tend to miss out on smaller but important moments of their child's growing years,' he said.

Shah Rukh says that all parents, especially busy fathers, must understand the growth and development of a child and help them in forming good habits and maintaining discipline in life.

The superstar is seen as an indulgent father in Pepsodent's new ad 'Pappu and Pappa'.
