Pankhuri Awasthy To Enter Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

Pankhuri Awasthy who has played title roles in shows like Suryaputra Karn, Razia Sultan, etc is now back with television's one of the longest running shows, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.  The actress who so far has played very powerful roles this time will be seen playing a girl next door.  Pankhuri reveals, "She's a simple, sweet and yet mature girl who will slowly make a place for herself in the family.  She's soft spoken and someone many girls will identify with, including me."  

Pankhuri got married to actor Gautam Rode last year and has not been seen on screen recently.  "Its great to be back on television.  I have always wanted to do meaningful work and hence I didn't want to rush into a project I wasn't convinced about.  I am glad that I am coming back with a show that has been around for a decade and already has a lot of goodwill and a loyal family audience.  In fact there are members of my own extended family who have seen the show and loved it for years."

Pankhuri was last seen in Kya Kasoor Hai Alma Ka? playing the role of a rape victim.
