'No reason to NOT do Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin': Param Singh opens up on return to TV after 3 years

Param Singh, who is all set to make a comeback on television with Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin after a gap of 3 and a half years has got all his fans pretty excited ever since the first look of the show has dropped. The actor, who will be seen essaying the character of a 'gynaecologist' in the show, got in an exclusive chat with India Forums and spoke for the first time about his stint on the show.

Speaking about his character being different from all the other characters he has played until now, Param says, ''Yes, this character is different from everything I have played until now. I have played characters that were intense and strong but this guy is sophisticated, he is simple, he is a professional, a nice human being, which is also very visible from the promo of the show. This is what makes the character different from every other character I have essayed.''

Ask the actor if there is any sort of pressure to take the legacy of the show ahead and he says, ''Absolutely not. Kisi ko replace karne ka pressure toh mujhe lena hi nahi tha kabhi. I am an actor and I will do the best at what I deliver to the viewers. Haan pressure iss baat ka jarur lunga ke jo bhi main deliver karne wala hoon, usey honesty ke sath kaise karu.''

Further speaking about his return to television after a gap of 3 and a half years, Param reveals that a few of his projects had been delayed. ''I am coming back on TV after a gap of 3 and a half years. A few of my projects were delayed, isliye bhi maine decide kiya that I should take up the show. With my projects being delayed, I felt like sab bandh hi bandh ho raha hai. Hence, this year specially I decided to be more open and as soon as I decided this, I got this opportunity, so I am glad,'' Param says.

''There was no reason to say no to the show. Itna acha show hai, hit hai, itne saalo se chal raha hai, I also know the production house and I have worked with the producer of the show, Rajesh Ram Singh ji before, he was my director in Ghulam, so I know him. My character too is different from everything I have played until now, it is simple, toh na bolne ka sawal nahi tha,'' He further adds.

Revealing the reaction of people on the promo of the show, he says, ''Everyone loved it. My family and friends called me to congratulate me and told me that they loved the promo. The production house and my team too have had similar reactions.''
