After the MOU agreement has failed between FWICE and the Producer Association, FWICE has now announced for an indefinite strike from 3rd October onwards.
Our source informs us, "There was an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) between the FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) and Producer Association regarding the fee hike and a lot of other demands for the workers who work for long duration on sets. Finding the demand unreasonable, the producers have not signed the contract. There was an expectation for a negotiation to take place between the federation and the producers but it hasn't happened yet. Therefore, CINTAA in association with the FWICE calls for an indefinite strike with its 22 union bodies including Directors, DOPs, Cameramen, Light men, etc. taking place from 3rd October 5 AM onwards."
"The meeting is still on to resolve things between the federation and the producers but if things won't materialize then this strike will take place from 3rd October onwards," adds our source.
Union's Chairman Prem Singh confirmed the news.
