In a shocking incident, Nargis Fakhri’s sister Aliya Fakhri has been arrested by the New York Plice for alleged murder and arson. It seems the 43-year-old lady in a fit of rage started a fire that killed her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend. Apparently, Aliya Fakhri set a two-storey garage on fire in Queens, New York. Her former beau, Edward Jacobs died along with Anastasia “Star” Ettienne in the flames. He was squatting in the garage that was located behind a private home. This incident happened on November 11, and she has been charged with homicide. The Queens Criminal Court denied her bail.
As per press reports, District Attorney Melinda Katz said, “This defendant maliciously ended the lives of two people by setting a fire that trapped a man and woman in a raging inferno. The victims tragically died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.” Nargis Fakhri whose mother is of Czech origin apparently did not meet her daughter Aliya in three years. She told a news outlet, “I don’t think she would be killing someone. She was a person who was caring for everybody. She tried to help everybody.”
It seems Aliya Fakhri struggled with addiction after a dental surgery that went amiss. Aliya had won a lawsuit against a dental firm after her nerve got damage after treatment for a tooth infection. She could not move her tongue. But in between, she got addicted to Oxycontin. It left her mentally unstable.
A witness at the crime scene recounted how Star lost her life trying to save Edward Jacobs. They smelled gasoline and saw the couch was on fire. They had to jump over to save themselves. It seems the friends had laughed at Fakhri’s threats. The witness said, “Star jumped over with me but she went back in to save [Jacobs]. It was an abusive relationship. She told everybody [in the past] she was going to burn his house down, that she was going to kill him. We just laughed at her.”
Nargis Fakhri has been busy with the shoot of Housefull 5. In all probability, her sister will get 20 to 30 years in prison without parole.
