Actor Namit Khanna's stint in the Nia Sharma starrer, Twisted did earn him a lot of appreciation and certainly put him on the map. Now, all set to make his television fiction debut with Sony TV's upcoming show, Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai, Namit is entering the daily soap space.

In a vis-a-vis conversation with Namit, we asked him about how did the show happen to him and how was life after Twisted.

Namit said, "I have been in Mumbai for a while now and have been doing multiple things like advertising and modelling before focusing on acting for real. And just like any actor, I also wanted to work in films. There were several instances, where some offers almost materialized, but later things did not work out. And then last year, I did this web show, Twisted."

He added, "However, the drawback of doing a show like that is getting typecast. I fail to understand that why don't people have the imagination to know that the person you watch is an actor and this is just one thing he is doing. The next thing I know, I kept getting offers of similar genre and in fact, the story at times was the same too. I then decided to not do that than jeopardize my career by doing the same thing over and over again. Because, let's face it, those films aren't the A-grade films we see and of course, you cannot watch them with your families."

He added, "Hence, I decided to open myself to the idea of doing television. Then, I shot for a pilot episode for a Star Plus show which was also on a large scale. So, with Star, there is a three-month period for the pilot to get accepted and just when the period was about to end, I got a call for an audition for Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai. I refused telling them I am doing this Star show, but they just asked me to come for a meeting. Within two days of auditioning, meeting the producer and writer, everything was finalised. I felt an instant connect with the team of this show and I was on-board."

We wish Namit all the best and success for the show.
