My first love will be acting and acting alone - Nandish Sandhu

Nandish Sandhu has now completely turned into a businessman. The actor, who started venturing into business by owning BCL's Ahmedabad Express team, has now gone ahead and purchased a whole league, that of BCL Gujarat.

We got in touch with the actor and his business partner Gaurav Agarwal with whom the actor has collaborated before as well. It will be Nandish and Gaurav's second outing together.

And here's what Nandish has to say:

From acting to Entrepreneurship:

Acting is my first love and will always be. But this field is a very unpredictable one. So I decided to get into business when I am not working on my acting assignments. It is also a good way to keep myself busy and at the same time, learn the tricks of the trade. Getting into business is a good thing. But having said this, once my business ventures become stable, I will hire an efficient team of people to manage my business and get back to acting.

Difference between BCL Mumbai and BCL Gujarat?

BCL Gujarat will be telecast on a Gujarati channel. But the teams will be a mix of Gujarati actors and also our Hindi television stars.

Not playing with Ahmedabad Express:

I was the owner of Ahmedabad Express and had to manage an entire team. Also, we had many players who wanted to be a part of at least one match and if I too would have gone and played, my other players would not have got the chance to play. Also, I really did not get much time for any practice. So I was skeptical already.

Investing in Cricket:

Cricket happened to me by chance. If there was no BCL in the first place, there would be no team and I would not have got the opportunity to do this. One thing led to another and here I am.

Difference between owning a Team and an entire League:

There also, we learned a lot from the team. As a team owner, you become aware of your team's wants and needs and requirements. Owning Ahmedabad express turned out to be highly beneficial to me. Now that I know what a team needs, it will be easy for me to grasp what my team owners' wants and needs would be. Now that i own a league, I will also get to gradually learn the issues of a complete league.

Partnership with Gaurav Agarwal after BCL:

Gaurav is a family friend, whom I've known for more than 10 years. He has always been into business and when this idea struck me, the first name that came to my mind was that of Gaurav. As for our association, we both have our own strengths. He is good with the business aspects, laws and rules whereas I am more into the creative part of it.

Future acting projects:

I honestly, do not keep any boundaries for myself. I don't set any limitations for myself. I am all for exploring new opportunities. But as of now, I am completely into BCL Gujarat.

We also had a chat with Nandish Sandhu's business partner Gaurav Agarwal, who is all praises for the television industry. Says Gaurav, "The Ahmedabad Express team was fantastic. I learned a lot and also enjoyed myself with the players. As for BCL Gujarat, it is a very large project where we will be working with around 100 actors."

And on working with Nandish again after BCL, Gaurav says, "I met Nandish at a workshop 10 years ago and we've managed to keep in touch on and off. Firstly, he is a fantastic actor and I am not saying that because he is my friend. But having said that, Nandish also knows the basics of business. He is now a part of our family. As for the partnership, it is a solid commitment and relation and Nandish has a mind for it too. It won't take him long to learn business. And hopefully, a day will come when he will teach me something about business too.
