My favourite character is Baby and Actor is Devang - Sarita Joshi
Your comments on Baa Bahu aur Baby completing two years:

I am truly pleased that it has come this far, and not just two years, it should achieve greater heights. But honestly speaking, when a show that is this different, and yet so real to life, does well, an actor truly feels satisfied. After so much of hard work, when your show gets appreciation, that makes me creatively satisfied. It assures me that my talent is not wasted. The team we have here, is very creative. And I have worked with these people over the years, and its great to be back with them, and working with all as a family on and off screen.

The big birthday card, was truly a one of a kind surprise for the nation, what do you have to say about that?

Yes, it is a wonderful thing that the creative team has done. And I am happy that I am a part of the big surprise.

Talking about your character - Godavari Thakkar. How closely related are you to her?

Godavari Thakkar’s character is shown very strong. She single handedly brought up her children, where one of them is mentally challenged and one is handicapped, and yet she struggled and made wonderful people out of all of them. I wouldn’t say that my struggle was as harsh as Godavari Thakkar, but yes, I too single handedly took pains to bring up my children. I have not done anything different, there are thousands of mothers, who are doing whatever it takes to raise their kids, and Godavari is one of them, and that’s what I like about her character. It is so real to life, and not only the character, but also the whole show, real issues, real life problems, and even the fun they have, is something people can relate to.

What is the one thing that is different in you and Godavari?

I am not as stubborn as her, and I am a very happy go lucky kind of person.

Who is your favorite among all the kids in the Thakkar family?

Favorite Character is Baby and favorite actor is Devang.

You have been a popular Gujarati theater artist, any latest plays that might be coming up soon?

No, not as of now. The cast and crew of this show did do something, but things didn’t work out.

Out of theater, films and television, what do you prefer the most?

Theater, any day. The joy of performing on stage is any time better than anything else. Theater will always be my first love. Just because I don’t do theater much now a days, doesn’t mean I have left it, its just a phase, when I come across a good script, and if things work out, I will definitely get back to theater.

Whether its theater, television or movies, Sarita surely seems to be taking over the entire entertainment industry.
