'Mukkabaaz' to release with U/A certificate

Anurag Kashyap's upcoming film "Mukkabaaz" has been given a U/A certificate and the filmmaker has said that he was grateful to have an empowering experience with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Anurag Kashyap's upcoming film "Mukkabaaz" has been given a U/A certificate and the filmmaker has said that he was grateful to have an empowering experience with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

"In times of uncertainty and great doubt, I am grateful to actually have a reasonable, rational and empowering experience with the CBFC . 'U/A' with one voluntary audio deletion 'Mukkabaaz'," Kashyap tweeted on Tuesday.

The filmmaker said he was asked about his intentions to make "Mukkabaaz".

"And I spoke freely and fearlessly and was accorded the respect of a filmmaker by the CBFC. Last time that happened was 'Gangs of Wasseypur'. The Voluntary audio deletion was the difference between the 'A' certificate and the U/A #Mukkabaaz."

Kashyap thanked CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi and Minister of Information and Broadcasting

Smriti Irani.

"Thank you Prasoon Joshi and Smriti Irani and the board and the revising committee panel. Just to be given space to speak freely and fearlessly makes it all so worth it...," he tweeted.

"Mukkabaaz" is releasing on Friday. It is presented by Phantom Films and Colour Yellow Films stars, Vineet Kumar Singh, Zoya Hussain, Ravi Kishan and Jimmy Shergill.
