Mohit Arora recalls being rejected says,”Was told 'look Hritik jaisa hona chaheye, acting matter nahi karti”

Actor Mohit Arora has come a long way in showbiz, battling against all odds to create a name for himself with his work. During his audition days, things were not all that good for him. Mohit, who is currently seen playing the role of Deepak, in the Dangal TV show Milke bhi hum na mile, recalled his early days in showbiz and shared that during the auditions, he was told some ridiculous things.

Mohit says,”In this industry, every actor has to face their fair share of rejection. I remember that I had to face rejections for some ridiculous reasons at the start of my career. Once I was asked about my previous work and when I told them about my shows, theater and more, they interrupted me by asking ‘6 packs hai toh btao?’ I was told directly to my face that ‘look Hritik Roshan jaisa hona chaheye, acting itni matter nahi karti. Serial ke liyes lines to hm bulva hi lete hai bs look acha hona chaheye’. Height minimum 6 ft honi chaheye and mind you, I have a good height. But they wanted somebody taller than me.”

He further adds,” Being an artist, I have always preferred roles which are based more on acting rather than physical appearance. Things are also changing now in the entertainment industry and both the audience and the people from the entertainment world are now embracing diversity and paying more attention to artist caliber than their physical appearance.”

Professionally, Mohit has worked in shows like Pavitra Rishta, Jhansi Ki Rani, Savdhaan India and Adhikar (DD1).
