'Jab aap Mercedes..': Rubina Dilaik recalls being SUGGESTED to maintain lifestyle for asking certain 'per day'

Rubina Dilaik, one of the most popular and successful names in the hindi television industry, recently revealed how she was advised to buy 'solitaires,' and 'luxury hand bags,' to be able to demand a certain per day from the producers.

Speaking to Bharti Singh, the actress, looks back on having a 'close knit' friends group in the early days of the industry and reveals how they would suggest her to buy luxury brands just to be able to look 'high maintenance' in front of the producers. ''Almost 10 years back, we used to have a very close knit group of girlfriends and all aur main aksar sunti thi, 'Rubina are you buying this bag, are you buying this solitaire and all,' aur main kehti thi, 'nahi yaar, kyun, why?' They would say, 'nahi, jab tum ek falana bag leke ek producer ke office jaate ho, tab aap ka na ek aura set hota hai. Jab aap Mercedes se bahar nikalte ho na tab aapka ek positioning set hota hai, aapki branding hoti hai. Toh phir whenever you ask for your money, chahe wo film ka paisa ho ya aapka per day ho, then you are able to ask for your money,'' the actress tells Bharti.

She then further reveals how she'd not agree with these theories back then and says, ''So I would ask how does a bag determine, or a solitaire determine or an expensive car determine? Phir wo kehte thhe, 'nahi, phir saamne wale ke dimag mein perception aata hai ke she is very high maintenance. Phir jo per day jo wo maang raha hai, ya paise jo wo maang rahi hai, that is exactly what is given to you and it is a pyschology.' I said if my worth is decided by what car I go in, what bag I go in, I think it is the wrong industry for me.''

Jab aap Mercedes se bahar nikalte ho na tab aapka ek positioning set hota hai, aapki branding hoti hai.
