Megha Gupta and Vishal to host 'The Perfect Bride'...

Viewers have been enthralled with many wedding shows of late, and another reality show launching on similar lines is the Desi version of the internationally acclaimed show 'The Perfect Bride' on Star Plus. The show will be produced by Miditech.

According to our source, "The Perfect Bride reality show brings together a young man and woman though the match making efforts of the young man's mother. Neither the man nor the woman will have met until the beginning of the reality show. In this TV format, the ultimate prize is to be selected as the 'Perfect Bride' and get married with the full consent of the mother-in-law".

"The sets for the same have been erected at N.D. Studios, Karjat and the shoot for the show has commenced this week", adds our source.

"Initially, the channel and production house were looking for a big Bollywood name to host the show. In fact, popular actor Shreyas Talpade had been approached to host the show and things were almost on the verge of finalization when the actor stated some date problems", states our source.

The news coming in now is that popular face Megha Gupta who was seen in Mein Teri Parchhain Hoon and also in Nach Baliye with Naman Shaw will be hosting the show. Giving her company will be Hip Hip Hurray fame, Vishal Malhotra.

We tried calling Megha Gupta for a confirmation, but she refused to comment.

Vishal Malhotra was unavailable for comments.

According to the format, in the end just three mother-son pairs are left and five Perfect Bride candidates to choose from. The favourite mother-in-law, selected by popular audience vote through SMS, is finally allowed to choose her Perfect Bride. If the girl accepts, the couple will then be entitled to the magnificent wedding in the finale of The Perfect Bride.

Our attempts to get a confirmation from Miditech as well as the channel were in vain.

The show is expected to go on air in the second week of September. It is also speculated that a big name will be judging the show.
