With the government imposing a decision to screen Marathi movies during peak business hours has brought a smile to many but left the Bollywood industry fuming! In our Creative Cocktail section, we ask television actors if the decision is justified or not.

Mohit Sehgal who was last seen in Qubool Hai:

It is a good thing that people who love watching Marathi films will get an opportunity to watch the movies during the prime hours. We will now get a taste of Marathi films with Bollywood and Hollywood.

Vrinda Dawda who was last seen in Dil Dostii Dance:

I find the decision perfect. Just like the audience prefers watching Hollywood movies apart from Bollywood films, I am sure there are a lot of people who love watching Marathi films too. The actors of Marathi cinema will get a chance to showcase their talent and you never know... A Marathi actor may get a ticket to Bollywood!

Shilpa Anand who was last seen in Mahisagar:

There is always a phase when a new trend comes in. If Marathi films will do good the trend will stay, else it will fade away.

Pranali Ghogare who is currently seen in Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali:

I think Marathi cinema should be encouraged and everybody should watch these movies. They may be low budget and not marketed on a grand scale but Marathi movies have a lot of spunk. I am not saying this because I am a Maharashtrian but because I genuinely feel that this section of cinema should be encouraged.

Aditya Redij who was last seen in 'Bandhan - Saari Umar Humein Sang Rehna Hai:

It is a fair decision. I know that a lot of people are against the decision of occupying the prime time slot but I feel Marathi movies and Marathi actors should be encouraged. It is a new wave in the way we diversify cinema.

Ashok Lokhande who is currently seen in Diya Aur Baati Hum:

I think it is good to experiment. If people watch the films placed during prime time and the producers and distributors can make sufficient business, then nothing like it. But if it doesn't' the decision should be withdrawn.
