Actress Aruna Irani, who was also a patient at the same hospital, spoke about his final days in a recent interview with ETimes. She revealed that his lungs were filled with fluids.

When I fractured my leg, I was admitted to the same hospital as him, but I was unable to meet him because of my state. Fluids would fill up in his lungs, and he had to spend a few days in the hospital before he could come back

Reflecting on her equation with Manoj Kumar and his family, she said, “His wife (Shashi Goswami) was always nice to us, and we received special treatment from the two, and I worked in the majority of his films."

Aruna Irani worked with Manoj Kumar on films like "Upkar" (1967), "Roti Kapda Aur Makaan" (1974), and "Patthar Ke Samaan" (1967).

She said, “He was a great person with a kind heart, and when you share that bond with someone, you don’t just remember the films you did together, but you remember all the memories you made while working with them."

Manoj Kumar was recognized for his patriotic films. Some of his most popular movies include 'Purab Aur Paschim', 'Kranti' and 'Roti, Kapada Aur Makaan', among others.
