Indian cinema mourns the loss of legendary actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar, who passed away on April 4, 2025, at the age of 87. Kumar, known for his iconic patriotic roles in films like "Purab Aur Paschim," "Kranti," and "Roti, Kapada Aur Makaan," died at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital after a prolonged battle with health issues.

His final rites were held with full state honors today near Pawan Hans, in front of Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parle. As a mark of respect for his contributions to Indian cinema and his unwavering patriotism, Kumar's body was draped in the Indian tricolour before cremation. A band procession also accompanied the funeral procession.

Earlier this morning, an ambulance adorned with flowers arrived at Kumar's residence carrying his body. Videos also surfaced online showing Kumar's grandson making arrangements for the funeral.
