Mahabharat: Aamir Khan’s Dream Project Discussed by Vijayendra Prasad, Writer Reveals Actor’s Unique Idea

Aamir Khan, popularly known as Mr. Perfectionist, has been exploring new projects from a producer’s point of view. Recently, he opened up about one of his dream projects, Mahabharat. Now, ace writer Vijayendra Prasad, who penned Bajrangi Bhaijaan, revealed that Aamir had once approached him with an idea for this grand venture.

In a recent interaction, Vijayendra Prasad spoke about how Aamir had shared his vision with him. He told PTI, "Sometime ago, he (Aamir) came (to me) with an idea to make Mahabharata." While this revelation excited many, Prasad also added that he is not sure about the current status of the project. He mentioned that he does not know what happened after their initial discussion.

The celebrated writer also expressed his own wish regarding Mahabharat. He said that he would love to work with director SS Rajamouli on this iconic epic someday. Sharing his thoughts, he said, "His ultimate goal is to make Mahabharat," highlighting Rajamouli’s ambition as well.

Interestingly, Aamir Khan himself had earlier discussed this project during his interview with The Hollywood Reporter India. He had called Mahabharat "one of my biggest ambitions" and shared that even the writing process alone would take several years. When asked if he would act in the film too, Aamir smartly replied, "We'll see who we should cast based on who's appropriate for which part." He also revealed that because the story is so vast, it will need to be told across multiple films and would require different directors.

Meanwhile, Aamir is currently busy with another interesting project. In a chat with Pinkvilla, he opened up about Sitaare Zameen Par. Talking about the film’s theme, he said, "Actually, the film is also, in a larger sense, about mental health in many ways. It's a film that's connected to that theme; fingers crossed, I'm working on it right now."

As for the release, Aamir excitedly confirmed, "Meri toh agli abhi film aa rahi hai, Sitaare Zameen Par. June 20 ko hum logon ne decide kiya release karne ke liye aur…” Fans are now eagerly waiting for his upcoming projects and hoping to see Mahabharat come to life soon.
