Madhuri Dixit has a Star in the Orion Constellation Named After Her: Birthday Trivia

The Dhak Dhak girl of Bollywood, Madhuri Dixit celebrates her 52nd birthday today, on May 15. And it will be safe to say that the diva is only ageing backwards. Her scintillating looks and graceful persona makes her the ultimate crush of the nation. 

Interestingly, Madhuri Dixit had no plans on venturing into the world of movies. She holds a degree in microbiology and made her acting debut in 1984 with a leading role in the drama Abodh. However, she came to limelight with the 1988 film Tezaab. 

And the rest remains history. In a career spanning close to 35 years, Madhuri has delivered impeccable performances in evergreen films like 'Ram Lakhan', 'Saajan', 'Dil', 'Beta', 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun' and 'Dil To Pagal Hai'. 

Madhuri holds the record for getting the maximum number of best actress nominations at the Filmfare Award. In 2008, she was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian award, by the government of India.

We came across one such addition to her accomplishments that has left us shook. Bollywood’s dancing diva has a star named after her name. Yes, you heard that right! A group of her fans approached the Star Foundation Network, a charitable organisation that provides people with an opportunity to buy a star in the sky and gift it to the person of their choice.

Madhuri Dixit has a star in the Orion constellation named after her name, and this was made possible by a group of her female fans. Well, that’s the power of her enormous stardom. The certificate by Star Foundation reads: "A celestial body in the sky above has been named in honour of Madhuri Dixit-Nene and is officially located in the constellation Orion."

The actress was pleasantly surprised by this gesture and had posted a picture of the certificate conferred on her by the Star Foundation on her social media. She had thanked her fans for this wonderful gift: "Wanted to thank my fans for the honor. They had a star in the Orion constellation named after me (sic)!”

Madhuri is the second Bollywood star to have a celestial body to her name. Last year, the International Lunar Geographic Society, a New York based organisation, named a crater on the moon's Sea of Tranquillity after Shah Rukh Khan.
