Bollywood actress and dancing queen Madhuri Dixit is back to work as judge on the dance reality show Dance Deewane 3.
In the coming episode, Madhuri will be seen remembering late choreographer Saroj Khan, who passed away last year. The actress shared an endearing bond with her ‘masterji’ and broke down in tears during the show.
Madhuri Dixit celebrates her birthday on May 15 and ahead of her special day, two contestants dedicated a dance performance on the song “Tabah ho gaye" from the 2019 film Kalank. The song marked the her last collaboration with Saroj Khan.
On seeing the performance, Madhuri couldn’t control her tears as she remembered the late choreographer and said:
“Seeing you dance, it felt like I was watching her (Saroj Khan) perform. It was like seeing Saroj ji stand right in front of me. When you danced on ‘Tabah ho gaye’, which was my last song with her, the memories of her teaching me came rushing back.”
When the host of the show, Bharti Singh asked the actress if she was ever scolded by Saroj, Madhuri recalled a incident and shared:
“Hann khaayi hai daat bhi khaayi hai. Ek baar mujhe daat diya kyuki main ro padi kyuki mere director ne mujhe daat diya tha. Toh mere aankhon mein aansun aagaye the aur woh daatti hai, 'Ro kyu rahi ho? Rone nahi kabhi life mein'. She used to give me that strength on the sets. Bohut bohut bohut unko yaad karti hun. (Yes, I've been scolded by her. Once she scolded me for crying after my director had scolded me. My eyes welled up and she said, 'Why are you crying? Don't ever cry in life'... I miss her a lot)."
Madhuri also added that she learnt expressions and dance movements from the late choreographer and lauded her for making her place in the industry at a time when it was dominated by male choreographers.
