Krutika Desai on being part of Gauna: Ek Pratha: People are loving all shades of Gehna

Actress Krutika Desai, who is seen in the show Gauna: Ek Pratha produced by Mamta and Yash Patnaik, is thrilled to be part of the show. She adds that people are really relating to her character.

“The response is amazing. People are loving all the shades of Gehna. I relate a lot to the character that I am playing in this show. We both are very similar. We are shiv bhakts and are very clear in life about what we want. Major characteristics are similar, like being simple yet elegant. Smart as well as sassy. A modern girl with traditional values and ethics. I literally can’t cut off as soon as I leave the sets because it has been a part of me now,” she says.

She adds, “My makeup look is very different now in the show as compared to the previous one. Initially, Gehna was shown as a very simple girl from the village. Later, Vansh gave her a makeover, so her make up, costume and looks became a bit more elegant. Later, in order to come back with a bang with a motive of getting all the answers and his Gaurav again, Durgeshwari had given a complete transition to Gehna as Gayatri where my looks, hair, make up and costume had literally changed to the hot and sexy ones! I had got glam makeup looks..

It used to take 30 to 40mins initially to get into the look of Gehna but now it takes around an hour for the glam look!”  

Talking about shooting for the show, she says, “I have had many interesting incidents on set. Especially with the kid Prince. He is my heart! Such a bundle of joy, whenever he comes, the first and foremost he lands in my room and yells my name with love! The purest love I've ever got on set is him! He will make my day with his surprise chocolates for me n those lovely kisses.”

However, the TV industry has grown, says the actress, adding, “The TV industry has evolved a lot in terms of content. I am glad and happy about that fact. It’s good to see certain shows and stories being from the women’s point of view where all the age groups of a girl, women and ladies have been taken into consideration. The TV industry is, at the end of the day, a medium of entertainment for the masses who would want to relate themselves with the character! And it’s good that TV has been onto that track of reality and natural stuff!”

She adds, “We run a daily business as it is a daily soap. And an OTT or a film has to do a seasonal or few hours job to achieve their goal. Here we in the TV industry have to be very sure and analytical about what they deliver to our audience because they've got my other mediums, channels, shows etc! Though it’s all about the hard work and luck that pays off well in achieving our goals.”
